The Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, and the Association had planned a themed event, "Celebrating Mid-Autumn in Xinghua," but it had to be canceled due to the pandemic.

Mr. Fang Zhizhong, President of the Singapore Puxian (Hinghwa) Network, extends sincere greetings to leaders, friends, and family. Best wishes for a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival and respect for frontline warriors fighting the pandemic.

Regarding the Mid-Autumn Festival, the message delves into the customs of Putian people, particularly the tradition of "Sending Autumn" (送秋) where daughters who are married send gifts to their parents and elders, expressing filial piety and love.

The message also touches upon the local delicacy "Yugun Rice Noodles Stir-Fry" (芋群米粉炒), a must-have during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Xinghua, Puxian. It includes a rich assortment of ingredients such as taro, pork belly, clams, shrimp, dried scallops, shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, shredded meat, vegetables, and various seasonings. This dish holds cultural significance, symbolizing longevity and the transition from difficult times to a better life.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Singapore Puxian (Hinghwa) Network conveys warm regards to their hometown and expresses the wish for everyone to endure the difficulties and embrace a brighter future.
